Like any job, cooking also offers great joy to people who like food making. It is hard to say what kind of joy of cooking it is, the sight of seeing others eating satisfactorily the food you cooked can really make a great impact on me.

I know firstly the joy of cooking from my mom.She is the person who combines her hobby perfectly with her own job, that is why I always say she is so lucky a woman.I like cooking from childhood day because my mother is a good cook in a five-star hotel.I had once thought that she was a magician who could make the common ingrents live with colour and taste. The extraordinary food cooked by her is art of work in my eyes. I always wondered why she could cook such delicious food which please both taste and eyes.

I used to thinking to be a cook is easy and can often enjoy the joy of cooking. However, cooking for some people, like me is not so easy at first. One of my friends has as his instant messaging tag: Sometimes, simple is the most difficult. It’s a sentiment that I totally agree with right now.My mom can make the daily home dishes marvellous.when it is my turn, it is totally not the case.I had a look at a recipe for salt crackers and thought it would be easy, but unfortunately, it’s one of the trickiest things I’ve ever made.

Many people regard cooking as a chore, but i love it so much. In fact, I was never much of a cook when I was living at home because my mom was the best cook forever. But when I moved out, I started to cook and began to appreciate cooking. I know my family would try it. They eat it, and enjoy it. I cook and enjoy the joy of cooking because I love to cook and try new things. I am so proud of myself that I made the food that the whole family is about to eat. I can take comfort in the fact that I know what is in this food that is about to nourish us. After a couple of successful meals, I may find myself “addicted” to cooking and excited to plan my next adventure in the kitchen.
Another reason for me to get the joy of cooking is that I like those delicate cooking utensils and the well equipped kitchen. You can not imagin what tremendous satisfaction I have from seeing everything being done in my kitchen. The next reason is that cooking helps me to overcome the problem of being impatient. You have to pay attention to every procedure in cooking, For example, you must be very careful when cleaning and trimming vegetables, or you might get food poisoning. During cooking, you should watch the fire, or the food will be burned, That is how I learned patience from cooking every day.

I never think I would become a good cook as my mother is one day. However, I feel it is enough to cook for my family and looking at the watered mouth of my children. I love cooking, because I really obtain the joy of cooking.

Eating healthy food doesn’t mean giving up your favourite foods and switching to salads. In fact, healthy cooking is easy. In many cases, your favourite recipes can be modified so they offer a healthier alternative. You can use some basic cooking techniques to prepare food in healthy ways.

General suggestions on healthy cooking methods include: Steam, bake, grill, braise, boil or microwave your foods. Modify or eliminate recipes that include butter or require a deep fry or saute in animal fat. Avoid using oils and butter as lubricants – use non-stick cookware instead. Don’t add salt to food as it is cooking. Remove chicken skin, which is high in fat. Eat more fresh vegetables and legumes.Eat more fish, which is high in protein, low in fats and loaded with omega 3 fatty acids.

It is very important to keep fats to a minimum for a healthy cooking. Low fat cooking begins when you are shopping. you can minimise those hidden fats by choosing lean meats and reduced fat dairy products. Avoid eating processed foods which can also have lots of hidden fats. Choose the low fat version of a food if it exists, for example milk, cheese, yoghurt, salad dressings and gravies. Dietary fats are best when they come from the unrefined natural fats found in nuts, seeds, fish, soy, olives and avocado because fat from these foods includes the essential long-chain fatty acids and this fat is accompanied by other good nutrients. If you add fats when cooking, keep them to a minimum and use monounsaturated oils such as olive and canola oil.

It is a standard to keep vitamins people need for a healthy cooking. Water soluble vitamins are delicate and easily destroyed during preparation and cooking. Suggestions for retaining vitamins include: scrub vegetables rather than peel them, as many nutrients are found close to the skin. Microwave or steam vegetables instead of boiling them. If you like to boil vegetables, use a small amount of water and do not overboil them. Stir-fried vegetables are cooked quickly to retain their associated nutrients.

If you want to achieve a healthy cooking, be sure to cut out salt.Salt is a traditional flavour enhancer, but research suggests that a high salt diet could contribute to a range of disorders of body system. Don’t automatically salt your food, you can taste it first. Add a splash of olive oil or lemon juice close to the end of cooking time or to cooked vegetables, which can enhance flavours in the same way as salt. Limit your consumption of salty processed meats, such as ham, corned beef, smoked salmon, frankfurters and chicken loaf. If you eat fish regularly, the need for iodised salt is reduced. Avoid salt-laden processed foods, such as flavoured instant pasta, canned or dehydrated soup mixes, chips and salted nuts. Most cheeses are very high in salt so limit your intake or choose lower salt varieties.Reduce your use of soy sauce, tomato sauce and processed sauces because they contain high levels of salt.

Outdoor cooking can be experienced in many different ways. You can make it quick and simple or you can plan it as one of your activities for the day. Many enjoy the process of outdoor cooking meal preparation and experiment with various methods. But the one thing everyone agrees with, is that food cooked outdoor always taste good.True, outdoor cooking requires a different set of rules and equipment from those we use at home. Outdoor cooking involves quite a bit of skill and innovation but with a little practice and creativity you too can become an “outdoor chef”. Take some time to plan your meals and decide how you wish to prepare them. Enjoy not only the food but the process of preparing it!

Cooking and eating outdoors takes some knowledge and preparation and all the activities we enjoy doing in the great outdoor cooking burn up energy. Here some tips for cooking in the outdoors will help you to enjoy some tasty food.First, get yourself organized. Before starting to cook, make sure that everything you willtake including pots, pans, utensils, food, water, and your fuel stove. Work out a cooking plan so that food which takes the longest to cook is put on the stove first.By rotating pots containing different components on and off the stove, you can time the cooking so that everything is ready to eat at the same time. Second, keep it simple. None of us are ever going to create a culinary masterpiece on our single burner camping stove,so keep your menu ideas simple! Plan what food you are going to buy and take with you, and try to select foods with short cooking times to save both time and fuel.

When beginning the outdoor cooking, you have to keep some tips in mind. First, it takes at least 30 minutes for the charcoal to get hot enough to use. Why do we feel like using the charcoal as fuel to cook? The benefit of charcoal is that it burns a long time and needs little refueling. Second, even though cast iron ovens are the easiest to find, I would recommend an aluminum Dutch oven, because aluminum is much lighter to carry and, most importantly, it won’t rust! As for the food cooking, almost anything you bake at home can be baked in the outdoor cooking. With experience you will be baking meats, cakes and even breads and biscuits. Use a meat thermometer to gauge when the meat is done. Ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. When grilling chicken, remember that dark meat needs longer on the grill than breast meat. Also, bone-in parts cook longer than boneless parts. Always remember to clean the area before you leave the camping site. Make sure you douse out all the fires when you finish. Collect all your items when you are ready to go back home.

Outdoor cooking can be great fun and bring about a welcome change in our daily routine. And it is a great way to bond with your family and connect with the natural surroundings. With some planning, you can whip up some amazing dishes in the outdoors as well.

Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic energy like light waves or radio waves. In our modern age, microwaves are used to relay long distance telephone signals, television programs, and computer information across the earth. However, for we common people, the usage of microwave is most familiar to us as one of the methods for cooking food. Microwave cooking attract many houswives for its fast speed and good taste.

There is so much more you can do with your microwave oven besodes heating leftovers or frozen dinners, thawing meat, baking potatoes or pop popcorn. Many microwave recipes, microwave cooking tips, sources for purchasing microwave ovens, utensils and cookbooks are offered in the web sites. Generally, cooking food takes one-fourth the time in the microwave than it takes in your conventional ovens. Because cooking heat is created within the food, your kitchen does not become overheated. Natural flavors are retained in the food with microwave cooking. Reduced cooking time means more vitamins and minerals are retained. Your microwave uses less electrical wattage than with your conventional oven, and you’re cooking for a shorter amount of time. What is more, there is less mess to clean up after your dishes are done.Over 90% of American homes have microwave ovens used for microwave cooking, because compared to conventional ovens, microwave ovens are so convenient and energy efficient. As a result, very few homes or restaurants have no microwave ovens. In general, people believe that whatever a microwave oven does to foods cooked in it doesn’t have any negative influence on either the food or them.

However, every coin has two sides, many researches studies show microwave cooking can also be bad for human health. According to the statistics made by scientists, continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term brain damage.Male and female hormone production is shut down or altered by continually eating microwaved foods. Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit.Their research showed health problems so serious that the Russians set strict limits of 10 microwatts exposure for workers and one microwatt for civilians. Is it possible that millions of people are ignorantly sacrificing their health in exchange for the convenience of microwave ovens? We have not understood the problem clearly yet, however the answers given by those scientists may shock you into throwing your microwave oven in the trash.

To tell the truth, I like microwave cooking so much, even though I had been told in the past to stop eating microwaved food, but I did not pay too much attention to this because I had been microwave cooking for years. I never thought much about it but I suppose that if something was so bad for us, then there wouldn’t be so many people using it.

No matter how spectacular the scenery is, meals around the campfire are often the highlight of the camping day. Nothing beats the taste and appeal of a meal cooked over the campfire and a success at campfire cooking will encourage you to go camping more often. Compared with cooking over an open fire in days gone by, modern camp stoves and specialized cookware of today make the cook’s job much easier.

Before the start of campfire cooking, you should do some preparation work. The first one is to select a site. The campfire is the center of activity and gathering so it is important that precautions are taken to make this a safe place. Pay close attention to the ground before preparing any fire.Choose a fire site far from bushes or any combustibles. Make a U-shaped perimeter with large rocks or green logs. Put a large flat rock at the rear of the firepit to act as a chimney. Then fill the fire area with crumpled paper and lay kindling over paper in layers, alternating direction with each layer. Light the paper to start your fire. When kindling is ablaze, add firewood. Campfire cooking requires a clean-burning, hot fire, which can be only achieved with dry, seasoned wood. Distribute wood evenly over fire bed. As soon as the last flames die down, put blocks of white coals. To cook, set the grill on rocks or wetted green logs.

As for the recipes for campfire cooking, you can first have a try of Bannock for it is simple to make and only four basic ingredients are needed. This dish is tasty, nutritious and fun to cook on a stick over the campfire. It needs to prepare 2 cups flour, 2 Tbsp baking powder,1 tsp salt ,3 Tbsp oil, butter or lard and 2/3 cup warm water. To cook it, put everything but the water in a bowl and mix with your fingers. Slowly add water and mix until dough feels soft. Take a small handful and wrap around the end of a green stick, like a marshmallow roast. Knead it so it stays together. Cook for about 10 - 12 minutes, rotating to cook evenly. Add a bit of jam or honey when it is served. Shishkebab is another proper dish for campfire cooking. What you need for this one is just beef, small whole onions, red or green peppers, whole mushrooms and whole cherry tomatoes.Brown the cubed meat in a skillet over high heat for 1/2 minute on each side. Cut the peppers in large chunks, leaving the other vegetables whole. Slip the pieces onto a skewer, alternating the ingredients.Cook over the open fire for 15-20 minutes till done. Sprinkle with grated cheese and breadcrumbs before serving.

After campfire cooking, add wood for your evening campfire. Before retiring, extinguish thoroughly and soak with water. Turn rocks in on fire bed. It will be easy to reassemble the next day if required. In additon, there are some suggestions provided to remember: Wear appropriate clothing. Foods will not cook if too far from your heat source. Don’t rush by cooking over a fire instead of a bed of coals. When cooking is completed, be sure to cool all coals.

Crockpots are good cooking utensils to make main meals for individuals or families. Crock pot cooking makes meats more tender chicken, turkey more moist and fish more soft and flaky. When cooking in a crock-pot the best flavors will come from whole herbs and spices. Crushed herbs and spices rapidly lose their flavor during the long cooking time, while whole spices can keep the original flavor during the entire cooking time. In addition, crockpot recipes create great main courses with little time preparing.

Various kinds of food are suitable to be cooked with crock pot. Frozen foods are not tasty with the common cookwares, while it can obtain good flavor in crock pot cooking. When cooking frozen means you should use at least one cup of warm liquid along with the meat. Upon cooking these types of meals you should have to wait for four to six hours on low temperature or two hours on high. Even though the time required is a little longer, it is worth waiting for the enjoyment of sense of taste.

Contrary to the popular belief, raw meat made in the method of crock pot cooking is very safe. During the cooking process, the internal temperature of meat can reach approximately 170 degrees for beef and 190 degrees for poultry. Two important priciples to remember however is to always cook the meat for its complete recommended time according to the recipe. Secondly, do not remove the lid from the slow cooker. There is no need to brown meat beforehand unless you prefer the look and taste of browned meat.Desserts and baked goods can be applied to crock pots cooking as well. You should make sure not to overcook breads and cakes and always follow the recommended recipe guidelines. Never add extra water to the crock pot unless it specifically requires to do so. It is better to allow cakes and breads sitting and cooling for five to seven minutes before taking them out of the pan.Vegetables like potatoes and carrots can also be cooked with crock pot. Those vegetables should be cut no larger than 1cm thick, and put in the bottom of the pot since they require more time to cook. Crock pot cooking can be delicious for both meals and desserts when some basic guidelines are followed.

Crock pot cooking can offer some very tasty meals and desserts, however, some basic rules should be followed when using a crock-pot. You should be careful not to over stir food while it is cooking. Taking the lid off during cooking may cause vast amounts of heat to escape. Therefore the food should only be stirred if it is clearly stated in the recipe. In additon, some elements can only be added at the end of the cooking steps. When using milk and sour cream, be sure to wait until the last fifteen minutes before adding these ingredients. Unless the recipe states, seafood only needs to be added during the last hour of cooking time.

Cooking utensils are very important to a household because we can not live without eating so we can not do without cooking utensils. In fact, the utensils that are used to cook food often do more than just holding food.

Cooking utensils have various functions in the course of cooking. Can you imagine the days when all cooking utensils are gone. People from the ancient time began to learn how to make cooking utensils to cook food. They can be made of stone, aluminum and iron. In the past, cooking for housewives is a painstaking and time consuming task. Fortunately, nowadays kinds of utensils are invited which make life more convenient than before.

Many substances can be absorbed from the utensils into the food that is being cooked, some of which are essential to human health. Cooking utensils are usually made of three of the substances: aluminum, lead, and iron. Up to about 52% of all cookware is made with aluminum and the amount of aluminum leached into food from cookware is very small. As for the cooking utensils made of lead, research has shown that children should be protected from ceramic cookware containing lead. Acidic foods such as oranges, tomatoes, or foods with vinegar will cause more lead to be leached from ceramic cookware. More lead will leach into hot liquids like coffee, tea, and soups than into cold beverages. There is significant evidence that cooking in iron pots increases the amount of iron in the diet. This is usually a very small source of dietary iron. Nutritionists recommend using the iron-made cookware for the purpose of keeping good health.

People care so much about cooking utensils also because they have an affect on nutrition of any cooked food. A good cook knows clearly what kind of utensil should be chosen for a certain kind of food to keep both nutrition and taste. A proper cooking utensil should be suitable for heating on both thermal and induction heat sources. Utensils of poor quality can not used for a long time. What is even worse, they can result in great dangers when cooking. In order not to pose any risks, you had better buy your cookware in the reputable retail stores.

People may like collecting stamps, books, coins and clocks. Likewise, many housewives have the habit of collecting cooking utensils, not for just holding food but looking upon them as favorite art of works. Cherishing them like antique vases, ladies carry them with great care, fearing that they will drop when their grip is loose or crash if they hold on too tightly. Cooking utensils can be brought as present given to friends, which bring a touch of family atmosphere. In a word, cooking utensils are not only a carrier of food, but reflect the warmth of home.

Different measurement systems are used in different countries, for example, cooks in the United States tend to measure all ingredients by volume, while it is common in Europe to measure dry ingredients by weight. Cooking measurements are sometimes exact while at other times they can be loose terms which will depend on cultures even on the certain cook. The concept of cooking measurements is different depending on different cultures. In the European countries, especially in Germany, people have accustomed to using cooking measurements in daily cooking. Usually, the standard of measurement is also exact in the form of unit and number, for instance, 1 tablespoon, 1/4 cup, 1 quart and 16 ounces, etc. These are just a few cooking measurements that one needs to know about to be able to meet the standards of the recipe. On the contrary, in Asian countries, especially in China, it is totally not the case. Chinese like using approximate terms to measure during the course of cooking. They would like say: “put some salt and add more sugar.” For the European cooks, those non-specific terms are really confusing. It is wise for the Chinese recipe writer to give the cook a clear idea of just how much the measurement should be.

As for the specific cooking measurements of Chinese, here some basic ones will be introduced as follows. These cooking measurements are also on the top list that can confuse you. The first one is a dash. A dash of pepper or a dash of cinnamon is usually used as one of cooking measurements. For those cook who have no idea of the exact measurement of a dash, they will take for granted that it is right to shake the pepper container or cinnamon container a quick dash over the food. If the holes of the container are big, then a lot of the spice can go to your food, while smaller holes will yield less spices. In actuality, a dash measures about a teaspoon. Next one is a pinch. A pinch of salt makes you have the idea of getting salt with your fingers with a pinching of both thumb and forefinger. These kinds of cooking measurements can lead to different amounts because everybody has different size of fingers and different ways of pinching. A pinch is actually just 1/8 of a teaspoon.

Cooking measurements are usually important for a good cook. Measuring accurately is probably the most important cooking skill for some people. For others, they can do well without considering any of these measurements. No matter what kind of system or method of cooking measurements you would like to use, the best result is cooking the delicious food. In a word, you can adjust these cooking measurements according to your own preferences and tastes.

I have searched many online cooking games and have come up with the following fantastic web sites for any competitive-natured game lover. This site, CDKitchen.com can be ranked as the first one I recommend to you. I love this site because the cooking games keeps me busy for hours. I am a huge PhotoHunt player. The graphics of this cooking game are excellent, and the music is entertaining. You are free to play and no sign-up required. Food PhotoHunt gets my vote for best cooking games online.

Pbskids.org is a wonderful site that offers cooking games which are mainly for kids. Pbs.org has a cooking game available in English and Spanish called “Cooking with Abuela”. Children can pick a recipe and then find the ingredients on screen. Children have to “drag” the ingredients to the counter top. Ingredients can be found inside cabinets, in the refrigerator and on other counter tops of the virtual kitchen. Different levels of difficulty are also available. This cooking game can be seen as a valuable tool for teachers when teaching Spanish. The feature of the cooking games on the sites is that bright and interesting graphics are of a cartoon nature. Recipes can be printed out.

EBaums World is a very good website which offers many classical cooking games like “Papas Pizza”. The object of this online cooking game is to keep Papas Pizza open by filling pizza orders. You drag and drop ingredients on to the top of the graphic pizza to complete orders that are found to your right. When you complete the order, drag the pizza paddle to put pizza in the oven and begin the next order. Many cooking games get progressively more and more difficult as you advance. “Papas Pizza” is not so easy to pass as you come to a higher level.

Nintendo is another cooking games website, and it has a game called Cooking Mama in which the contender races the clock trying to prepare quality food. What’s great about this game is it also offers tips on the screen that you can make use in your real kitchen. The player has to chop vegetables, fry, grate, peel, mash and all the other things a cook does in their real kitchen.
