This is a very good appetizer most evening parties. The mild and smooth taste of the cheese relaxes one after a hard day at work. This is one recipe you can try at home which will surely give your guests the relaxed and laid back feeling.
Ingredients:
- 1 small onion, cut into thin wedges
- 2 teaspoons of butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup of tomato preserves or mango chutney
- 1/2 teaspoon of fresh rosemary or 1/4 teaspoon of crushed, dried rosemary
- 1/8 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
- 1 8-ounce of round Brie cheese
- Breadsticks, assorted crackers, or French bread slices
Instructions:
- First thing you need to do is to caramelize the onions in your butter or margarine because this will serve as your topping.
- While doing this, you can start putting together in another clean bowl your tomato preserves or mango chutney, crushed red pepper, and your rosemary.
- Moving on, you take a hold of your Brie cheese and cut a thin slice over both edges because you will not be using the said part.
- You can slice up the remaining Brie cheese so that you can lay them on an un-greased pie plate; add your toppings – your mango chutney or tomato mixture with and the caramelized onions.
- To make this recipe perfect, you have to bake it in a 325-degree Fahrenheit oven up to a maximum of 15 minutes – just enough time to make the Brie warm and soft.
- You can serve your baked Brie with breadsticks, bread slices, or crackers to really make your guests enjoy this very mouth-watering appetizer.
