Good quality pasta and fresh broccoli are essential ingredients in making a standout pasta recipe. So, if you’re looking for something healthy and a deeply flavorful way to enjoy the garden’s freshest pick, then this broccoli pasta recipe is the surest way to go.
Ingredients:
- ½ package of large pasta shells or other more familiar noodles
- 5 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 ounces cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- In a large medium-high heat saucepan, cook broccoli florets in 2 tablespoons of olive oil for about 5 minutes. One helpful hint to know if the broccoli is cooked is when it’s already crisp-tender. Once cooked, transfer the broccoli to a plate.
- In the same pan, add 1 cup chicken broth, cream cheese, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper. Mix over heat until the sauce is rich and creamy. Put broccoli back to the pan together with other ingredients, stir a little, and then remove from the heat.
- Cook large pasta shells or any other kinds of pasta noodles in a boiling water. Drain then set aside. Pour the broccoli mixture into the pasta, add 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese, toss a little, and then serve.
