How to Make Cajun Chicken Pasta

Cajun is a special recipe where chicken is coupled with various herbs, cheese and vegetables. Here, the chicken is grilled nicely and eaten with various accompaniments. Parts of chicken meat like drumsticks, wings, breast halves, all can be used. A Cajun seasoning is a must for this preparation. Once it’s there, then it becomes one of the fastest recipes. Being a few minute to prepare the dishes, it’s very dear to the students and others as well. It can be enjoyed with sandwiches or salads. It can be a good meal constituting your lunch or dinner. The unique thing about Cajun chicken is that it can be served cold or hot; that’s the real good characteristic about this dish. You can make variations in the ingredients and vegetables you want. No special or odd ingredients are required, and you can find the ingredients from your nearest supermarket. Cajun chicken pasta, or Cajun chicken noodles are few to name, which are mainly preferred. Choice of cheese and noodles rest with the cook and the guests.

Ingredients:

  • Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves: 2
  • Linguine pasta: 4 ounces
  • Cajun seasoning: 2 tbsps.
  • Butter: 2 tbsps.
  • Green and red bell peppers: 2
  • Scallions of spring and green onion: 1
  • Heavy whipping cream: 1 cup
  • Ground black pepper: 1/8 tsp.
  • Garlic powder: 1/8 tsp.
  • Grated Parmesan cheese: 1/4 cup
  • Dried basil: 1/4 tsp.
  • Lemon pepper: 1/4 tsp.
  • Salt: 1/4 tsp.
  • Mushrooms: 4 large
  • Tomatoes: optional

Instructions:

  1. Take the boneless and skinless chicken breasts and cut into halves. Clean thoroughly and cut into strips.
  2. Slice the peppers and mushrooms.
  3. Cut the onions into slices.
  4. Keep the pasta cooked and drained.
  5. Grate the cheese and keep aside.
  6. Coat the chicken with cajun seasoning nicely.
  7. Sauté the coated chicken in butter in a skillet or frying pan, for 7-8 minutes.
  8. Until somewhat tender, add sliced onions and mushrooms and cook the entire thing for 4-5 minutes.
  9. Reduce the flame and add seasonings and cream. Cook it on moderate heat.
  10. Add the cooked pasta and cook for sometime. Sprinkle grated cheese from top. Your cajun chicken is ready. Serve and enjoy the dish.

Tips:

  • You can coat the chicken by using a resealable plastic bag or tight container. It will not be messy.
  • Any type of cheese and noodles will taste good with this recipe, like parmesan, Parmigiano or reggiano. Its use is optional.
  • The quantity of cheese can be as per your taste.
  • You can add or delete the seasonings as per your preference.
  • If you wish, you can add the noodles or pasta to the chicken, once it gets cooked.
