How to Make Chicken Stir Fry

Other than chicken, turkey or beef can also be cooked in this style. Cashew, chestnut and meat make a good and flavorful taste. It’s considered as one of the easiest and simplest chicken recipes and makes a super weekday meal. A whole array of vegetables used in the preparation gives it a nutritious effect. The spices can be adjusted as desired. Some prefer it mild whereas others, hot. It’s delectable both ways as well as a low fat and low calorie but high in taste dish.

The good part of this recipe is hat; it cooks the bite-size chunks of chicken over high flame in a short time. The combination can vary depending on each individual. Easy basil chicken stir-fry (or Kai Kraphao, called in Thai language) is a common Thai delicacy. In this style, special Thai jasmine rice is used with garnishing of sprinkling of chopped basil leaves. Various ingredients can be paired up with this dish, like stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken: 500 grams (Boneless)
  • Garlic: 2 tsp.
  • Ginger: 1 tsp.
  • Onion: 1
  • Spring onions: 5
  • Sugar: 2 tbsps.
  • Salt: as desired
  • Soy sauce: 2 tbsps.
  • Corn flour: 2 tbsps.
  • Vegetables: cabbage, carrot, bell peppers
  • Water: 1 cup
  • Oil: 2 tbsps.

Ingredients for stir-fry sauce:

  • Soy sauce: 1 cup
  • Mayonnaise: 2 cups
  • Garlic: 2 clove, small

Instructions:

  1. Wash the boneless chicken and cut into as many thin strips you want.
  2. Chop and mince ginger and garlic.
  3. Chop the spring onion and slice or dice the onion.
  4. Wash and shred the vegetables you are using.
  5. Fry ginger-garlic in a pan, adding spring onions putting salt.
  6. Fry the onion pieces until golden brown.
  7. Add the chicken pieces and sliced onions and other chopped vegetables.
  8. Pour 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Leave the pan covered for 5 minutes and cook.
  9. Now, add the remaining amount of water along with cornflower, soy sauce and sugar.
  10. Stir the combination thoroughly without letting any lumps to form.
  11. Allow the content to thicken until the consistency you desire.
  12. Once done, serve it over a plateful of hot rice.

Method for making the sauce:

  1. Add the mayonnaise and soy sauce and blend to a smooth paste without any clumps.
  2. Mince the garlic and add to the mixture and mix well again.
  3. Refrigerate the content for an hour and while cooking, spoon the thick sauce onto the vegetables or cooked chicken.


Tips:

  • Mayonnaise can be of low-fat content.
  • You can prepare your own chicken stir-fry sauce at home. The ingredients are easily available at home.
  • All-purpose flour or cornstarch can be used as per your taste.
