How to Make Clam Chowder

Some people think that coming up with a clam chowder recipe in a flash is something only experts can do. But they are actually wrong. This recipe will show them that a clam chowder recipe can be done in less than an hour.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of clams
  • 24 oz. evaporated milk
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 1 cup of flour
  • ¾ cups of butter
  • 2 cup of diced potatoes
  • 1 ½ cup of grated carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • Sugar, Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Drain clams. Keep both the clam juice and the clams.
  2. In a clean container, soak potatoes, carrots and celery in a mixture of the water and clam juice for 15 minutes.
  3. While soaking the vegetables on the mixture, combine milk and flour in another container.
  4. Sauté garlic on a pot with the use of the butter. Add the clams after.
  5. Add the milk and flour mixture on the pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the vegetables and the clam juice-water mixture and let it simmer for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked. Do not forget to stir it occasionally.
  7. Add sugar, salt and pepper to your desired taste. Serve while hot.
