How to Make Cranberry Nut Bread

Nothing beats the taste of an old classic. This classic Cranberry Nut Bread recipe tastes sweet and nutty. This can definitely be a delightful surprise to a guest or loved ones.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen Cranberries, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg.
  4. Mix until the mixture is well blended.
  5. Add in the cranberries and nuts, and then stir well.
  6. Evenly spread the mixture in the loaf pan.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 55 minutes. Check for its doneness by sticking a fork in and see if it comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from pan and let cool completely.
  10. Wrap and store overnight.
