Garlic bread is the traditional accompaniment of most tomato and cream based pasta dishes. However, you can consume it as it is.
Cooking time for this garlic bread recipe is approximately three minutes.
Ingredients:
- 4 cloves of garlic (crushed)
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 loaf of crusty bread, split (you may also want to try the traditional French
- Baguette)
- 3 tablespoons of grated cheese (preferrably Romano or Parmessan cheese)
- Parsley chopped into very fine pieces
Instructions:
- Prepare the crusted bread by toasting it under the broiler until it has acquired a nice brown color.
- Create the garlic oil by combining garlic, butter and olive oil in a pan or a microwavable dish.
- Heat the mixture for a maximum of 1 minute in a microwave or put the mixture on top of medium heat fire until the butter is completely melted.
- Brush the garlic oil over the bread and top it with cheese and parsley.
- Brown the cheese by returning the garlic bread to the broiler for at least 30 seconds.
- Cut the bread into smaller pieces and serve.
