Ingredients:
- ¼ cup wild rice, raw and uncooked
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (but a garlic powder is much more desirable)
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
- 2 carrots, cut into very thin pieces
- 8-10 cups water
- 4 ounces mushrooms of any kind
- 1 boneless chicken cut into cubes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 green onions, finely chopped
Directions:
- Bring a large pot filled halfway with water, or 8-10 cups over high heat. Add a tablespoon of hot pepper sauce, a teaspoon of garlic powder, finely chopped carrots, and fresh mushrooms altogether. Cook it for 5 minutes.
- Add wild rice and boneless cubed chicken to the boiling water over a very low heat. Bring to a simmer for 3 hours to heat through.
- Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with green onions.
