How to Make Lil Smokies with Bacon

Wrapped Smokies with bacon is a certified hit with your guests. Tasty appetizers that will surely make your guests ask for more.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (16 ounces) smokies
  • ¾ pound thick sliced bacon
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Cut bacon slice into four. Wrap the smokies with the bacon. (1 bacon slice into 1 smokies). Keep the bacon strip into place with a toothpick. Place the wrapped smokies in a baking pan. (Preferred size of baking pan: 13 x 9x 2 inches). Sprinkle each of the smokies with brown sugar making sure that each of the sides are evenly sprinkled.
  2. Bake the wrapped smokies in a preheated oven (400 degrees Fahrenheit or about 200 degrees Celcius) for 30 to 35 minutes. You can also remove from over if the bacon is already crispy and the sugar has melted.
  3. Serve after letting cool for a few minutes.

This recipe makes 22 servings.

Note:

  • Instead of using smokies, you can substitute it with beef cocktail wieners.
  • To add a little zing to your dish, you could also include 2 tablespoons of vinegar in drizzling the smokies before baking.

Serving Suggestion:

  • When serving the Smokies with Bacon, it is suggested to place them in a crock-pot to keep warm for the guests.
