This recipe is something which is perfect for a small gathering because everyone will surely love them. It doesn’t even take up much of your time because you can prepare all of this on the same day that you are expecting your guests.
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups of dried breadcrumbs (Italian style)
- 1-1/3 cups of freshly grated Parmesan
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 blocks or 16 ounces of pasteurized mozzarella cut into 4 by 1/2-inch sticks
- 4 large eggs that are beaten
- 1-1/2 cups of vegetable oil
Instructions:
- The first thing you need to do is to first mix all the ingredients needed for the breading into a bowl large enough for you to combine them well. These ingredients are namely your 1 cup of Parmesan, bread crumbs, and the teaspoon of salt.
- When the combining is already done, you can set the breading aside for awhile so that you can work with your sliced mozzarella cheese. To make them perfect, you must dip them into your beaten eggs well enough so that the breading will really stick to it.
- When the cheese is already coated completely with the egg, you can now drop it to your breading mixture. Make sure that there is just enough breading to coat your cheese. Otherwise, your mozzarella cheese will not be cooked well enough for you to enjoy it.
- Repeat this process with all the other slices of mozzarella cheese and then place them on a baking sheet.
- Then place the baking sheet inside your freezer for a minimum time of 2 hours.
- When cooking it, make sure that your oil gets hot enough over a medium heat before frying your cheese. The average time before your mozzarella sticks turn golden brown is about 1 minute so make sure you keep a close eye on them.
- Serve them in a plate sprinkled with your remaining Parmesan cheese.
