How to Make Mulled Cider

Mulled cider is a warm drink, and therefore, a winter must-have. Follow this easy recipe to prepare the drink and round off your holiday meal with this. Your family and guests will love it.


  • One quart apple cider
  • ½ cup brandy (optional)
  • One cinnamon stick
  • Eight whole cloves
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • One orange
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Pour the apple cider in a saucepan and put the saucepan on low heat. With the help of a paring knife, cut the orange zest and remove the orange from inside. Do remember to remove the white pith from inside the orange.
  2. Now pound the zest to release its juice and place the zest with the cider. Also, add all the other ingredients such as brandy, cinnamon, cloves, cranberries, honey, and vanilla extract in the saucepan and cook it over low heat. Keep stirring occasionally.
  3. When the cider starts to give off steam, remove it from the gas stove. If you prefer any extra seasonings in your cider, you can add them now. Your hot mulled cider is ready to be served.
