How to Make Mulled Wine

An age-old drink, mulled wine is best savored during the holiday season. A little sweet and a little spicy, mulled wine is an absolute favorite with one and all.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • One bottle wine
  • ½ cup brandy
  • Eight cloves
  • One cinnamon stick
  • Orange peel

Instructions:

  1. Pour the wine in a saucepan and place it over the gas stove at low heat. Cut the zest of the orange and remove the orange from inside. Discard any white pith.
  2. Pound the zest and release its oil. Place the zest inside the saucepan with the wine. Now add the sugar, brandy, cloves, and the cinnamon to the saucepan. Keep stirring the contents of the saucepan. Let the wine cook slowly, but make sure it does not come to a boil.
  3. When the mixture begins to steam, remove it from the heat. You can now serve the mulled wine.
