How to Roast Potatoes
Roasted potatoes can be served alongside any dish. It tastes equally good with a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian dish.
Ingredients:
- Eight potatoes
- 100 ml olive oil
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
- Peel the potatoes. After you have peeled the skin off all the potatoes, then cut them into egg-shaped sizes.
- Now, take a pot and put all the potato pieces inside it. Cover them with water and boil the potatoes. Cook the potatoes for about 8 minutes, but remember, the potatoes do not have to be cooked entirely.
- Once the water has been brought to a boil, shut the heat off. Drain all the water from the potatoes. Set the partially-cooked potatoes aside so that they can cool down.
- While the potatoes cool, start preparing the roasting tin. Pour oil inside the roasting tin in a way that the bottom of the tin is entirely covered with oil. Now, place this tin on top of a high tray before placing it inside the oven.
- Heat the oven by setting it at a temperature of about 250 degrees F. While the oil inside the roasting tin is getting heated, you can start scratching the potatoes with the help of a fork.
- When the oil inside the roasting tin starts sizzling, it means it is hot now. Place the potatoes inside the roasting tin. Make sure that the potato pieces are completely covered in oil by turning them over.
- Let the potatoes cook for about an hour. In between, turn the potatoes over to the other side to ensure even cooking on both the sides.
- After getting cooked for about an hour, the potatoes would have acquired a golden brown color, and they will be soft inside while being crisp on the outside. This you can check with the help of a fork.
- Remove the potatoes from inside the oven and drain out all the remaining oil. You can now serve your roasted potatoes.
